|

In line with my wife's request that a good trail must make her feel good and want to burst out in a song and start dancing and pirouetting amongst the trees, here are my top picks which have been approved by the missus.
1. Frim :
Note : Suitable for all levels
Start at Rover -> Bukit Hari Track -> Left turn to head towards the golf driving range -> 501 -> Rover
2. Kiara :
Note : There are no beginner trails in Kiara. So only come here with your lady when she is ready to advance.
a) 2K -> Apollo; This is our current favourite trail. It has some technical bits but nothing too scary. Lots of contour hugging trails that create a surfing type feeling.
b) 2K full loop. At the end of the trail, look left and there is semi-hidden trail that actually takes you back to the trail head. The advantage of this route is that you don't have to ride up the road as it is a closed loop. A very good work out without becoming too tired. The best route for a quick exercise on a busy weekday.
c) For a longer ride, 2K -> Apollo -> Baraccuda -> Plan A -> F&B time at Sri Hartamas -> Plan A -> Baraccuda -> Road. Our favourite weekend ride.
d) Ride up to Tokong -> Back down and turn left to Shriner's Convention -> Road -> About 100m from the Gate at the bottom of the road look for an opening in the fence on the left. Take this path which is a short trail that goes to Lembah Kiara park. The long downhill from Tokong is very nice.
3. Batu Dam
This used to be good when we first start out 2 years ago. I read that the PCC are doing some trail maintenance here today. It might be worth checking it out. We haven't been back as we are hooked on Kiara but there's lots of potential here. |

Try the short hash from last year .... it has some medium technical stuff but nothing that can't be easily walked in seconds if nerves kick in ..... combination of : Twin Peaks (up and over the top), just after the descent look for a sharp right u-turn into TNT, at the bottom of this turn right in Dirty Deeds (brings you out at the intersection of boulder and snakes and upper short), turn left and ride boulder backwards, turn right again into Bar-a-kuda then out on the road and climb back to the 4 ways. If you want to lessen the technical aspect of the 2k, ride it backwards (take the exit/entrance furtherest down the hill) and exit at Apollo then back up the road ......
Just suggestions..... plenty of options these days in Kiara, just needs imagination. |

You'd be coming from Bangsar, rite? I would suggest you go via Jln Maarof > Pusat Bandar Damansara > Jalan Duta > Jalan Kuching.
From Jalan Kucing, after passing Makro on your left, exit to MRR2. Follow along MRR2 as indicated in the map. Ample signage pointing to FRIM. Godwilling, you won't get lost. Good luck! |
