My 2007 Fox 36VANRC2, about 6 months old. Found cracked inside the bolts' holes last month. Never drops above 2 ft, covered by warranty or not?

| that could have been caused by overtorquing the pinch bolts. |

| I think you should get it exchanged with the warranty. It shouldn't be happening if you ride it like you said.. Try the warranty. |

yeah try get a warranty on it. if it has a little silver fox sticker behind the lower left or right leg you should be able to get a proper warranty processed. if not, well, i guess you'll have to settle for a "shop"/unofficial warranty.
i can't imagine any other way for that to have cracked other than you overtorquing the bolts, if you indeed did not ride that hard on it. somewhere in the manual there should be specifications on how much torque to put on the pinch bolts. |

Here is a very complete description on the warranty process on Kian Hong Cycles website (distribtor & tech center for Fox in SEA) They also have a warranty claim form to download, in PDF format. Good luck!

| I have seen this before on Fox forks - it is from over torquing the pinch bolts (as Jason says). |

| i wouldn't exactly call that 'sensitive'. everything has a limit. the grip around the thru axle is very great already without having to excessively torque the pinch bolts. i'm willing to bet very excessive force (>15Nm) was exerted on the pinch bolts. working on road bikes and their carbon bits, now that's a different story. THAT stuff is 'sensitive'. |

The recommended torque value for Fox 20mm drop out pinch bolts is surprisingly low. 19 in/Lb which is 2.1 Nm. |

:smt023 Nice one! Glad to hear it worked out. KH Cycles are generally good with warranties, even beyond their obligations sometimes.
That's why so many guys here are on Fox shox and rightly so. Its the only big fork/shock brand that's well represented and competently supported in this region. Plus the KHC tech guy actually knows what he's doing, unlike the other big fork/shock distributors. |
