Bicycle portrait tips:
1. Photograph directly from the side of your bike, with the cranks facing you (bike pointing to your right).
2. Place the camera at the same level as the bike.
3. Put the chain on the largest chainring and smallest cog, and the crankarms at about level position.
4. Shoot in a shaded area, not under direct sunlight.
5. If you are indoors, DO NOT use flash. Turn off flash and support your camera by placing it on a chair or something as to avoid blurs from camera shake.
6. If the picture appears too bright or dark (on the computer screen), shoot again using the cameras exposure compensation function, usually labelled -/+
7. You should resize the image on photoshop to a browser-friendly size before posting to forums. About 800 pixels wide is good. |
