Finally bought myself a hooker sl frame from cove. It’s not a newer model from cove but I felt like it’s so much perfect for my style of riding (after riding kona stinky for mths now). WE WENT for our first ride, did some jumps, speed slopes, roots sections and more jumps, and wat can I say more..Perfect geo for me! Amazingly how much stiffness I felt in the rear (as if like riding on a hardtail with alittle rear travel as a bonus) totally diff from my stinky. The ‘low feeling like riding’ too makes me more confident. Im looking for some upgrades options for this baby. Do gv some suggestions . New future upgrades will be the hydro brakes (wat model??) then follow by fork(still thinking whether more travel needed or not..) Well im not a pro(more of a wkend rider) but I enjoyin my time wif her everytime when im on it. Can’t wait for my next ride.hehehe
p.s need to tkxs my buddy for strongly recommended me this frame. Even thou its cost almost my arms n legs to get tis awesome machine..
some pics i took before we had our first ride together..so sorrie about the poor quality of the pics taken.

| Just watched a documentary on TV last night about how the mtb industry got started here in North Vancouver in the early 80's. Really interesting, with good interviews with the people behind Cove, Rocky Mountain, Kona and others. Chaz, the founder of Cove, actually mentioned the 'Hooker', and showed an ad they had made for it some years back that said something like 'the best ride for the corners, use a hooker'... The bike was made as a dual slalom ripper, but has been out of production for 2-3 years I believe? Awesome bike though, and after hanging out in the Cove store today getting my lower link changed, I start drooling over some of their new bikes... |
