Hello there,
I used to join MTB off road in Langkawi with a group of crazy friends. That was back in 2003, now, after almost 4 years, am thinking of getting back into the fun, craze sports. I've sold my 13' frame Specialized Rockhopper bike, which now I think I shouldn't have done that....so to cut long story short, am looking for a bike again...yes and 13' frame, not much budget around 1k to 1.5k? I know, that's a bit too low...but maybe there's someone out there who wants to help me to get back into the world of craziness??? and yeah..I was a 'Betty' before (I think they call that in US for chicks who rides MTB) |

welcome to the forum!
the term Betty came from an article in a mtb magazine many many years ago..
a guy wrote in to describe how he took his girlfriend (by the name of Betty) biking..
She was doing everything wrong i suppose...
the writer wrote something about don't be a Betty... i guess the name got stuck.
small sized frames are pretty hard to come by here..
i remember bike pro is getting rid of their miniature sized GT's for rm150!!!!

Hey, you live in Ampang? Where do you guys go biking in Ampang? I have a guy friend who has a bike that needs repair (has disc brake problem). Where's the nearest bike shop that can fix that? |

Betty
I have a spare 15" bike to spare, if u wanna borrow it be4 getting your own. In fact, my usual group has quite a few spare bikes to loan out to newbies, on condition that you all ride with us la ! Our usual group of 7 to 8 riders has basically 'disintegrate' becoz of other commitments, so now ni only me and one guy yang active, and both of us own these spare bikes.
Just give a shout if you wanna join.
Cheers. |

epicride - thanks for the invite, am 5' 2, you think I would be able to ride 15" bike? which part of KL do you live?
ScottUSA - Yes, I have called them, at the moment those models that they have are beyond my budget but can do if I wait a little longer to save some more $$$$
KeLoLo - Yeah, I heard about that, there is a track around Bukit Belacan. Cool, off road is the best! You thought wot the fek you're doing climbing the hill at 8am in the morning on sunday, then when descending....wooo hoooo...only those who have experienced it, will know:)
fakawichief-Chief..am glad I stumbled in this website, people here are real 'hardcore'!! (to tell the truth...I could be the 'original betty'...haha..boys used to wait for me at the pinnacle of the hill..and giving me moral support, whilst me....carrying my bike up..instead of riding it!! hahaha..maybe 'epicride' will have second thought about inviting me to ride with his team...LOL |
